As one of the greatest writers and exponents of Bossa Nova outside of Brazil, Adam Dunning’s music is an authentic infusion of melodic sun and surf sounds, and classically written lyrics appealing to humanity's conscience.

Oceanic, sensual, environmental, from one of the most unique composers on the world stage today.

the voice of summer

Adam Dunning has composed, recorded, and played his original songs to all corners of the world, from Rio de Janeiro, Melbourne, Paris, LA, Istanbul, and Amsterdam, touching the cycle of nature.

Adam's new album release, "The Return" is again an original delivery of passion, with the introduction of his created rhythm, Surf Jazz, and with contributions from legendary Bossa composer Joao Donato and his brother, lyricist Lysias Enio, Adam's original collaborator, songwriter Ronaldo Cotrim, arranger Flavio Mendes, and Australian songwriter Karen Nicholls.

The album was recorded in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, with the production talents of producer Alex Moreira (Bossacucanova), string arrangements by maestro Flavio Mendes, the support of legends Carlos Lyra, Cris Delanno, and Paula Morelembaum, with a special featured performance by legendary Brazilian trumpeter and flugelist, the late Paulinho Trompete. The album also includes Adam's single, "Holiday" (#3 on Australia's Great Southern Charts), a collaboration with Australian-based folk songstress Tash Parker resulting in an organic melody of innocence and nature.

The Return also includes his classic "Ordinary", a partnership with Istanbul's singer, ChanCé portraying a raw, natural, instinctive freedom that was recorded in Istanbul, Turkey.

The new album released in Japan on P-Vine Records in 2020, and then across the rest of the world digitally and on physical format.

With tours in the planning for Japan, Singapore, Europe, and the US (as soon as all the gates open), along with a new 4th album already in the works, there will be more of Adam's summer sounds close to you, wherever you are.

Adam has performed in Japan, Brazil, Turkey, and across Australia at various festivals including the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, the Sustainable Living Festival (2 years),  "An Eve With Adam", "Songs from the Sun and the Moon", "Good Morning", "Smooth Operator", "Cosy Night In". and "'S Wonderful", along with  leading Bossa and jazz exponents across Australia, Turkey, France, Japan, and Brazil including Joao Donato, Cris Delanno, Marcos Valle, Marco Brito (Brazil), and Max and Joao Viana (Brazil).  In 2018 he sang at a tribute performance in Ipanema before some of Brazil's greatest artists, with Carlos Lyra, Marcos Valle, Joao Donato, Paula Morelembaum, Cris Delanno, Celso Fonseca, and others.

Adam's album "Glass Bottom Boat" and the earlier “Sunset Monkeys” were also both recorded in Rio, collaborating with Bossa’s great pioneers, including Roberto Menescal, Joao Donato, as well as other prominent exponents, Barbara Mendes, Cris Delanno / Alex Moreira (Bossacucanova), Ronaldo Cotrim, drummer Rafael Barata (Eliane Elias), and bassist Gastao Villeroy (Milton Nascimento) to name a few.

The Glass Bottom Boat album appealed to humanity's conscience, imagining a world where humanity co-exists in harmony with nature.  The album included Dunning’s first English version of the world famous “Amazonas” (Donato/Enio), and his “Happy New Year” single - written as a get well card to Japan after the 2011 earthquake which Dunning experienced himself during his 2011 Japan tour.
